Dear colleagues, it is my honour and pleasure to inform you that “Law and Economy”, a legal journal published by the Business Lawyers Association of Serbia has been classified by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia in 2020 as a legal journal of leading national importance – M51.

In the past year, the quality of the Journal and metadata has improved significantly and complies with international standards: articles have DOI reference, CERIF, and UDC classification; author's affiliation; “thank-you” notes; a list of references; information on the date of receipt, corrections, and acceptance of the paper. A new categorization of papers according to type was introduced: original scientific papers, scientific review papers and professional papers. Special sections for analytical book reviews and student papers have been reintroduced. From 2020 all published papers are available free of charge on the journal’s website immediately after publication.

I express my gratitude to the authors and reviewers who contributed to the improvement in quality of the “Law and Economy” journal.
